This Privacy Policy explains how Groupe Briques Canada Inc., operating as Canada’s Bricks (“we”, “us”, “our”), collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you visit canadasbricks.ca, buy from us, sell LEGO® to us, or contact us. We handle personal information in accordance with Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Law 25) and Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

2. What information we collect

  • When you place an order: your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number and order details. Card payments are handled by our payment processors (Stripe and Klarna). We do not see or store your full card number.
  • When you create an account: your name, email address, password (stored in encrypted form), addresses, order history and wishlist.
  • When you sell LEGO® to us: your name, contact details, a description of the items, the amount paid and any other information required by our seller agreement, so we can record the purchase and confirm that you own the items.
  • When you contact us or subscribe to our newsletter: your name, email address and the content of your message.
  • When you browse our website: technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device, pages visited and referring site, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see section 6).

3. Why we use your information

  • To process, ship and deliver your orders, and to handle returns and refunds.
  • To buy LEGO® from you and keep the records required for those transactions.
  • To manage your account and answer your questions.
  • To send you our newsletter and offers, only if you have signed up. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To prevent fraud and keep our website secure.
  • To understand how our website is used and improve it (only with your consent where required).
  • To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We only collect the information we need for these purposes, and we ask for your consent where the law requires it.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run our business, and only as much as they need:

  • Payment processors (Stripe, Klarna) to process payments.
  • Shipping carriers to deliver your orders.
  • Our website hosting provider (Hostinger) and website software providers.
  • Analytics and advertising services (Google and Meta), only if you accept the related cookies.
  • Marketplaces we sell on (such as BrickLink, BrickOwl and eBay), when you buy from us through them.
  • Government authorities, when required by law.

These providers must protect your information and may only use it to provide their services to us.

5. Information stored outside Quebec

Some of our service providers store or process information outside Quebec, including elsewhere in Canada, in the United States and in Europe. Before sharing information outside Quebec, we assess whether it will be adequately protected, and we use contracts to protect it. Information stored in another country may be accessible to authorities there under local law.

6. Cookies and tracking technologies

We use cookies that are necessary for the website to work (for example, your cart and login). With your consent, we also use analytics and marketing cookies, such as Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel. 7. How long we keep your information

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above. Order and purchase records are kept as long as required by tax and accounting laws (generally six years). Newsletter information is kept until you unsubscribe. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.

8. How we protect your information

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, secure payment processing, restricted access to our systems and strong passwords. If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious harm, we will notify the Commission d’accès à l’information and the people affected, as required by law.

9. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you, and have it corrected;
  • withdraw your consent (for example, to marketing emails or cookies);
  • ask us to stop sharing your information or to delete it, subject to legal limits;
  • receive your computerized information in a structured, commonly used format.

To exercise your rights, contact our person in charge of the protection of personal information (section 1). We will answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

10. Children

Our website is not intended for children under 14. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14 without the consent of a parent or guardian.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we make important changes, we will post a notice on our website.
